Time Periods. In those cases where it was possible to assign a time period to a work, our own set of periods has been applied for classification. This set of periods works with time-dependent unit size. For periods before the Common Era, unit size is the millenium. From 0 C.E. to 1000 C.E. centuries are used; between 1000 C.E. and 1900 C.E. a unit size of fifty years is used; and from 1900 C.E. to the present decades are used. For the time before 12,000 B.C.E. - these are the Upper Paleolithic and older prehistoric periods in Austria - no further delimitation has been made; nor has there been for the period after 2000 C.E.
